The Gates of Slumber's history includes the Blood Encrusted Deth Axe demo recorded around 2001, featuring Jamie Walters (Boulder, Midnight) on drums and bass. Jason McCash later took over bass duties in 2003, remaining a long-time member until 2014. After a hiatus, the band reformed in 2019 with original drummer Chuck Brown and Steve Janiak on bass, leading to their self-titled album release in 2024.
