Description
War Ina Babylon is a 180g vinyl reissue of Max Romeo’s 1976 album, recorded with the Upsetters and produced by Lee “Scratch” Perry. It’s suited to listeners exploring roots reggae and the Black Ark sound.
The album combines political commentary and Rastafarian themes with Perry’s distinctive dub-influenced production. It reflects the social and political turmoil of mid-1970s Jamaica and is widely regarded as a landmark roots reggae release.
Standout songs include “One Step Forward”, “War Ina Babylon” and “Chase the Devil”. This reissue faithfully replicates the original Island Records UK release.
